Employee Spotlight: Jordan Denecour, Services Operations Coordinator

jordan-denecour (1)After initially interviewing for an intern position with our Clients and Prospect Database project in the fall of 2015, the hiring manager encouraged me to apply for the Business Development Associate role instead as they thought I might provide an immediate impact on the sales team. I hit the ground running and began to train and work directly with sales trainers, my BDA peers, and Account Executives. While client prospecting doesn’t have the most glamorous reputation, I understood the value of the position and was mindful of the opportunities I was able to create for the organization.

Mitratech is HUGE on growing talent from within the organization, and during the 11 months I spent in the BDA role I was able to attend several internal training programs that helped build effective presentation and communication skills. After attending a Mitratech Internal Career Fair, I began pursuing an opportunity within the Services organization that would allow me to put my newfound experience and skills to further use. As the Services Operations Coordinator, I work between departments to help transform a client’s vision for a particular product into a full-scale project through coordinating scoping calls, building estimates, and delivering Statement of Works. My team has gone above and beyond to set me up for success by training me on the ins and outs of both the Services Department, and the organization as a whole. I’ve had the chance to train with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Directors within the department, and was even able to attend a 5-day TeamConnect Solution Administration training normally given to our clients to help me better understand how our products function. The effort Mitratech makes to develop talent from within is a key driving force behind our success, and highlights why our organization is at the top of its class!

It’s worth mentioning that throughout my two years with Mitratech, I was able to start AND finish my Master of Business Administration at St. Edward’s University. The real-world experience I’ve gained while at Mitratech was a driving force during my studies and the education I received while receiving my masters will no doubt help guide me to the next step on my career path through the organization.

In my free time, I’m an avid Ultimate Frisbee player – I’ve competed in the World Championships in Italy, as well as several tournaments throughout the U.S. and Mexico. I also coach the Women’s Club Ultimate Frisbee team at Texas State University. I enjoy travelling and plan to take advantage of our open PTO policy to go on several trips in the upcoming year – California, Arizona, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio, Florida, and India (to name a few)!
