Mitratech Appoints Michael Schmitt Senior Vice President of Business Development

Industry Veteran to Oversee Partner Channel

Los Angeles, CA –August 4, 2009 – Mitratech, the market and technology leader in collaborative accountability and legal operations management software, today announced the appointment of  Michael Schmitt, a 25 year software industry veteran, to the newly created post of Senior Vice President of Business Development.

Prior to joining Mitratech, he served as CEO of Siderean Software, a provider of Semantic Enterprise Search solutions.  Previously, Mr. Schmitt was Ariba’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer, helping to develop and implement Ariba’s turnaround strategy and corporate repositioning to Spend Management. At JD Edwards (now Oracle), he held the positions of Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing.

Mr. Schmitt’s first order of business will be to bring TeamConnect Express to market through Mitratech’s reseller channel. TeamConnect Express is a legal e-billing application with built in matter management functionality.  Available only as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution, TeamConnect Express is optimized for use by a mid-sized legal department.  The software enables legal departments to achieve a high level of awareness of outside legal spending and strong adherence to established billing guidelines and contractually agreed-upon billing rates by outside counsel firms.
