Does TeamConnect support clustering & load balancing?
Yes. TeamConnect supports application server clustering and database server clustering capabilities.
Can customers extend the product to incorporate new functionality?
TeamConnect provides an Object-Oriented Designer toolkit that allows system administrators to create new functional objects and to modify existing out-of-the-box functionality. Administrators may add, delete, or modify fields, screens, user profiles, security, as well as many other attributes. Additions and or modifications made within the Designer toolkit are upwardly compatible with new versions and are thus fully supported. Additionally, customers are able to extend product functionality using TeamConnect's Java Rules and WebServices layer, for which Mitratech offers extensive training classes.
Does TeamConnect integrate with other applications?
TeamConnect provides an open integration framework via Web Services and has out-the-box integration with email, calendaring and security servers. It provides security plug-ins, to authenticate users against an LDAP server, or single sign-on functionality using NTLM or other SSO servers such as Site Minder, Tivoli Access Manger etc.
TeamConnect also provides the customer the ability to leverage full Java capabilities by allowing custom Java code to be added as rules. This enables customers to develop more complex integrations with other applications and data via synchronous or asynchronous protocols such as file systems, Java RMI calls, ESB’s or HTTP/S. Its open Web Services Integration Layer allows external applications to easily interact with TeamConnect using secure Web Services over http/s. Using these integration capabilities and frameworks along with our custom data conversion tools, it is easy to develop high-volume batch data integrations as well as real-time dynamic run time integrations with other enterprise applications.
Explain the security model in TeamConnect.
TeamConnect contains an integrated role-based security model that provides comprehensive security and rights management capabilities. This allows fine-grained control of access privileges for individual users, or groups of users, down to the individual record or field level. Thus, only authorized users have access to confidential information. TeamConnect's "transportation layer" features key-based digital encryption/decryption using Security Socket Layer (SSL) technology, between the browser/web server and the web server/application server. Data encryption between client-browser and web/application server is handled by the browser's encryption capabilities.
